Ally Lehman is in her second season as a graduate assistant with the NIU women’s basketball program. The Huskies reached the Mid-American Conference tournament for the third time in five seasons in her first season back in DeKalb in 2021.
Lehman played for the Huskies from 2014-17, becoming NIU’s all-time leader in assists with 538. She had 36 career double-doubles and has two of the four triple-doubles in NIU women’s basketball history. Lehman was a First-Team All-MAC selection as she led the Huskies to the MAC Tournament championship game in 2017. She also holds the NIU single-season rebounds record with 329 in the 2015-16 season.
Upon graduation in 2017, Lehman was one of 10 women selected to direct commission to the Infantry as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. After infantry training at Fort Benning, Georgia, Lehman was an Assist Operations Officer and Heavy Weapons Platoon Leader at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 2018. She also was a member of the All-Army women’s basketball team and played for the All-Armed Forces basketball team at the 2019 Military World Games in China.
