Jazz Weaver, a former Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) at UNC Greensboro began her duties as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Northern Illinois University Women’s Basketball program in August of 2016
Weaver had spent the 2014-15 and 2015-16 at her alma mater, UNC Greensboro, where she started began her career as the Spartans’ DOBO and earned a promotion to Assistant Coach halfway through her first season. Weaver assumed coaching duties while also handling operations duties for the program under former WNBA player and Head Coach Wendy Palmer. She also served as the team’s director of all summer camps.
As a player, Weaver played in 85 career game with eight starts for the Spartans and helped the team to four SoCon Tournament appearances from 2008-12.
In her hometown of Covington, Ky., Weaver was inducted into the Covington Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame.
A 2008 graduate of Holmes High School, Weaver was named the NKY Player of the Year her senior season. She was twice selected to the 35th District All-Tournament Team and once to the Ninth Region Team. Weaver scored over 1,000 career points and pulled down more than 800 rebounds during her four years with the Bulldogs. She ranked top-10 in the state of Kentucky for rebounds averaging 11.3 per game and helped her team to a Ninth Region Championship appearance.
