Last Week: Wolfe rushed for 198 yards on 22 carries (a 9-yard average), caught a team-leading 4 passes for 42 yards and scored a season-high 4 rushing touchdowns (with all of his scores coming in the first 16:20 of the game) while playing a little over a half in a 48-14 NIU win over Indiana State. Wolfe played just one series in the second half while compiling 240 all-purpose yards.
2006 Notes
Wolfe is AVERAGING an amazing 8.63 yards per carry, more than a yard better than any of the Top 50 rushers in the country.
Wolfe continues to lead the country in rushing with 207.0 yards per game (46.25-yards better than second-place Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma) and in all-purpose yards with 246.0 yards per game (a 50.25-yard margin over Peterson). Wolfe's rushing average remains higher than that of 106 NCAA Division I-A TEAMS.
For the SEVENTH straight game (including contests versus 2005 bowl teams Toledo, Akron and Ohio State), Wolfe passed the 170-yard mark in rushing while recording his 18th career 100-yard game (in 24 career outings). Wolfe is averaging 221.7 yards over the last seven games, a stretch dating back to Nov. 16, 2005 at Toledo.
Wolfe has THREE of the country's Top 10 and four of the Top 20 rushing games this season, including the No. 1 (263 yards vs. Buffalo), No. 8 (198 yards vs. Indiana State) and No. 9 (196 yards vs. Ohio) efforts.
Currently 2nd on NIU career rushing list with 4,064 yards and needs 878 yards to pass career leader Michael Turner.
Twice named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week this season (Sept. 2 and 16).
Averaging 188 rushing yards/game against last three Big Ten opponents (171 at Ohio State on 9-2-06, 245 at Northwestern on 9-10-05, and 148 at Michigan on 9-3-05).
Ranks 2nd on NIU career touchdown list with 47, trailing only Michael Turner's 48, and is 3rd on scoring list with 282 points.
