FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team picked up its seventh road win with a 77-55 victory over IPFW (9-10) at Hilliard Gates Sports Center Tuesday evening.

"Our defense was very good from the start," head coach Carol Owens said. "Playing on the road is tough. I feel like we've been on the road a lot. It's good to win like this."

Wiener recorded her fifth double-double leading all scorers with a career-high 28 points and 12 rebounds. Stephanie Raymond finished with 13 points and eight assists.

"Kristin played real well," Owens said. "She showed her leadership by example. Stephanie played great. A lot of team's have been concentrating on her trying to double team her on ball screens. I just excited how everyone got to play."

Becky Smith started her second-straight game of the season, making the most of her opportunity. She finished with a career-high eight points and eight rebounds.

NIU wrapped up its three-game road trip with a 2-1 record. The Huskies (14-6, 5-3) shot 49 percent from the field while holding IPFW to just 32 percent shooting from the field.
