AKRON, Ohio - Goalkeeper Lindsey Curnock (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) recorded her second consecutive shutout but Northern Illinois was unable to convert offensively as the Huskies and Akron Zips played to a 0-0 tie Sunday afternoon.

NIU (6-5-4, 3-3-2) recorded seven shots in the game, but only two were on net. Curnock, who completed 200 minutes of scoreless goalkeeping this weekend, made five saves on the afternoon. Akron (6-4-6, 1-3-4) goalkeeper Krystin Wilson made two saves in the contest.

"Our team struggled in the first half and then we regrouped at half time and played much better in the second and during overtime," head coach Marci Miller Jobson said. "Both teams battled and had opportunities. Lindsey [Curnock] played pretty well and our defense did a nice job in front of her."

The Huskies wrap up their conference home schedule next weekend with a Friday match against Central Michigan and a Sunday game against Eastern Michigan.
