BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Northern Illinois men's soccer team was unable to overcome an early 2-0 deficit, as the Huskies lost to Bowling Green 3-1, Friday.

The Falcons (6-9-3, 2-2-1 Mid-American Conference) took a 2-0 lead less than six minutes into the match on goals by Thomas McLean and Chuko Evwaraye. Bowling green added a third goal from Hunter Van Houten before halftime to hold a 3-0 lead at the midway point of the match.

The Huskies (5-8-4, 1-3-1 MAC) could not mount a comeback despite firing 18 shots, including seven on goal, and taking nine corner kicks. Senior Fraser Gibson (Dumbarton, Scotland/Dumbarton Academy) scored the Huskies' goal with an assist from Curt Zastrow (North Freedom, Wis./Reedsburg Area).

Northern Illinois will wrap-up the regular season with Senior Day, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m., as the Huskies face UW-Milwaukee for the LeWang Trophy. NIU will celebrate the careers of seven seniors at the event: Steve Algozino, Fraser Gibson, Blake Gotkowski, Marcus McCarty, Chris Rufa, Brian Van Buren and Curt Zastrow.
