DeKalb, Ill. - The Mid-American Conference announced on Monday (December 31) that Northern Illinois senior forward Shaun Logan (Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott/Kirkwood C.C.) has been named the MAC West Division Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending December 30.
Logan totaled a season-high 20 points, including eight rebounds and career-highs in steals (5) and blocks (3) in the Huskies' 59-55 win over Arkansas-Little Rock at the NIU Convocation Center on Saturday (December 29) afternoon.
"If Shaun Logan didn't do what he did [on Saturday], we don't win the ball game," NIU head men's basketball coach Ricardo Patton said. "Shaun Logan played heroic and he played for every guy on the floor. He did a little bit of everything."
The Eldridge, Iowa native has also knocked down at least one three-pointer in NIU's last eight games. For the season, Logan is averaging 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds-per-game for the Huskies.
NIU is back in action on Saturday, January 5, 2008 as they travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan for their Mid-American Conference opener against Western Michigan at 1 p.m. (CST).
