CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has named NIU's Brian Livingston MAC Men's Player of the Week. Livingston (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) is a sophomore and plays at the No. 1 Singles spot for the Huskies. Last weekend Livingston won both his matches against Big Ten opponents Wisconsin and Iowa.

On Saturday, Jan. 27 Livingston defeated Wisconsin's Nolan Polley 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. On Sunday, Jan. 28 he beat Iowa's Bart van Monsjou 6-0, 6-2. Livingston is 2-0 in singles so far this season.

"It's a great honor for Brian and our program," said head coach Pontus Hiort. "It's a reflection of the hard work he put in in the fall and the beginning of our spring season. Anytime you can beat the number one player for Big Ten opponents those are significant wins."

Livingston and the rest of the Huskies are next in action Saturday, Feb. 3 at Indiana University.
