Northern Illinois University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Track & Field. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. This person will assist the head coach in the organization, management, and coaching of a major university track & field team, in conjunction with other department responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in hand. Ability to demonstrate track & field skills, game and training strategies, plus teaching progressions. Knowledge of the throws, pole vault and heptathlon. Ability to communicate with and relate well to female athletes. Ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes including knowledge of junior clubs and high school programs. Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree. Successful competitive experience in track & field on the university or college level.
