Week's Achievements: Playing in his final match as a Huskie, Engebreth Faerden scored two goals in Northern Illinois' 5-1 win over Milwaukee to retain the Lewang Cup for the fifth straight year. The Lewang Cup is a traveling trophy between the schools that dates back nearly three decades. With the match tied at 1-1, Faerden netted the game-winning goal off a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box in the 34th minute. Then, in the 71st minute, Faerden again scored off a free kick to give the Huskies a 3-1 lead. The goals were the first for Faerden of the season, and second and third of his career.
 Week's Achievements: Mary Kurisch was most efficient for the Huskies in a split weekend, totaling 24 kills (3.00/set) and a .512 attack percentage as she had just three misfires on 41 attempts.  The middle blocker also added four blocks to total 26 points (3.25/set).  In a tough five-set loss at Western Michigan, the sophomore had 15 kills and hit .487.  Kurisch then attacked even better in a 3-0 home win over Bowling Green, hitting .571 with nine kills.  Her 15-kill effort was the sixth time this season that she has surpassed the 10-kill mark.  She also now has 10 matches with a .400 attack percentage or better.  The math education major has been an NIU Victory Scholar (3.50 GPA or better) in each semester, holding a current 3.70 GPA.
