Accomplishments

• Helped coach teams to eight bowl games, including seven in the last eight years.

• Defensive coordinator for Rose Bowl-bound Wisconsin, which ranks 22nd nationally and third in the Big Ten in total defense.

• Coached two All-Big Ten First Team selections and six overall all-league picks in 2010, including Ted Hendricks Award (best defensive end) finalist and Lott IMPACT Award (defensive impact player) winner J.J. Watt.

• In 2009, guided a Badger defense that ranked 17th in the country in total defense, allowing just 305.7 yards per game.

• Badgers ranked 10th nationally and led the Big Ten with 37 sacks in 2009, and ranked second in the Big Ten with 23 sacks in 2010.

• Coached 2009 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Chris Borland (LB) and first-team All-Big Ten honoree O'Brien Schofield (DE).

• In 2008, his first year as UW Defensive Coordinator, coached seven Badgers to All-Big Ten honors and two of his players were taken in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

• In 2006, was co-defensive coordinator of the nation's best pass efficiency defense (84.19 rating) and second-best defense in passing yards allowed (138.3) and scoring (12.1 ppg).

• Co-coordinated the nation's third-best rushing defense (83.3 ypg) and 11th-best total defense (303.3 ypg) in 2005 at Kansas.

• Coached 2005 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and A.P. All-American Nick Reid, and three other All-Big 12 selections that year.

• Secondary coach for 2001 FCS National Champions and 2000 FCS National Runners-Up Montana.

• Grizzlies recorded a 28-3 record with two conference titles with Doeren on staff.

• Part of staff at Southern California that led the nation in interceptions (24) in 1998 and turnover margin in 1999, including a second-best 21 interceptions.

• Coached Drake as linebackers coach from 1995-97 and was promoted to defensive coordinator in his final season. Bulldogs went 24-7-1 during his tenure.
