DEKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois head women's soccer coach Carrie Barker announced the Huskies' complete 2010 schedule Thursday. Scheduled for a tough, competitive season, the Huskies will take on nine opponents from five conferences, before each of the 11 Mid-American Conference schools.

"We look forward to a tougher schedule than we've had in past seasons," Barker said. "By playing nine different opponents from five different conferences, we will have a chance to see where we stand in the region."

The Huskies will open their schedule on the road, when they face Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Aug. 15, before heading home to host Western Illinois in their home opener Aug. 20, and Creighton on Aug. 23.

NIU will then hit the road for a three-game stretch where the Huskies will face Iowa, Aug. 27, and Northern Iowa, Aug. 29 at the University of Iowa Tournament, before travelling to Loyola on Sept. 5.

In their final non-conference games of the season, the Huskies will return to DeKalb to take on Illinois State, Sept. 10, SIU-Edwardsville, Sept. 17, and Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sept. 19.

After opening conference play at Toledo, Sept. 24, the Huskies will return home to host MAC opponents Ball State, Buffalo, and Kent State. The Huskies will then spend the next two weekends on the road, as they take on Akron, Ohio, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan.

NIU will host Miami and Bowling Green in their final home match-ups of the season, Oct. 22 and Oct. 24, before wrapping up their regular-season schedule at Western Michigan on Oct. 28.

The MAC Quarterfinals are set to begin Oct. 31, with the league championships set to take place the following weekend.
