DeKALB, Ill. - The annual Northern Illinois baseball Leadoff Banquet will be held Sunday, January 29 from 4-8 p.m. at the White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville, Ill. The event will be an opportunity to meet and greet with the Huskies and get a preview of the 2012 season.

For $60 per person, the festive night includes dinner, a silent auction, the 2011 NIU team awards presentation, 2012 season preview and team introduction, and keynote speaker Gene Lamont, former Major League catcher, American League Manager of the Year and current third base coach for the Detroit Tigers. Lamont is a native of Kirkland, Ill. The silent auction will include great baseball memorabilia and autographed items. NIU baseball gear will also be available for sale. All proceeds will benefit the NIU baseball program.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Huskie Baseball Office at 815-753-0147 by 5 p.m. Wednesday January 25.
