NIU to Host Resource Seminar for High School Personnel

Nov. 17, 2014 NIU Resource Seminar for High School Personnel

DeKALB, Ill. – Intercollegiate Athletics at Northern Illinois University invites all local high school athletic directors and guidance counselors to attend the third Northern Illinois High School Athletic Directors' Resource Seminar at NIU on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 6:30-8 p.m.

The free event, hosted by NIU Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Kiera Miller, will provide information to high school personnel so that they can assist student-athletes during the recruiting and eligibility certification process.

After a meet and greet session with NIU admissions representatives while refereshments are served prior to the seminar, athletic directors and counselors will be provided with an overview of new NCAA rules and regulations that will affect high school student-athletes as they begin to explore participation in intercollegiate athletics.

The NIU High School Athletic Directors' Resource Seminar will be held in the Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon Center on the NIU campus right beside Huskie Stadium. Following the educational session, all guests are invited to attend the NIU men's basketball game versus Idaho beginning at 8 p.m. in the NIU Convocation Center. Two complimentary tickets will be provided.
