DeKALB, Ill. - Each week, NIU honors two student-athletes that exemplify the concept of the "student-athlete" supremely well. These students excel both in the classroom and on the playing field. This week, the honorees are men's basketball's Anthony Johnson and women's basketball's Amanda Corral.

Week's Achievements: Anthony Johnson scored in double figures in both NIU men’s basketball games this week. His team-high 14 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting helped the Huskies improve to 4-0 at the Convocation Center in DeKalb this season with a 71-64 win over Mississippi Valley State last Tuesday night. Then the redshirt senior guard scored 11 points on Friday evening at Dartmouth, playing a key role in NIU overcoming a 14-point halftime deficit to force overtime.	Week's Achievements: Amanda Corral had one of the best games of her great career last Wednesday night, lifting NIU to a 69-47 victory over SIUE. The senior guard scored a season-high 26 points, converting a career-high 11 field goals on just 17 attempts while playing all but 24 seconds in the game. Corral also added five rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block as the stat-stuffing senior helped the Huskies pick up their third win of the season in convincing fashion.
