DeKALB, Ill. - Each week, NIU honors two student-athletes that exemplify the concept of the "student-athlete" supremely well. These students excel both in the classroom and on the playing field. This week, the honorees are men's basketball's Anthony Johnson and women's basketball's Jenna Thorp.

Week's Achievements: Anthony Johnson scored a career-high 21 points on Wednesday night against Buffalo as the Huskies suffered a narrow defeat to the defending MAC East champions. Johnson converted 9-of-16 attempts in the game and added five rebounds, a steal and an assist in the game.	Week's Achievements: Jenna Thorp tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists to help the NIU women's basketball team pick up its second MAC win by defeating Kent State on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center, 66-49. The senior forward also made her first 3-pointer of the season in the game.
