March 9, 2015 DeKALB, Ill. - Each week, NIU honors two student-athletes that exemplify the concept of the "student-athlete" supremely well. These students excel both in the classroom and on the playing field. This week, the honorees areAnthony Johnson from men's basketball and Megan Greenfield of gymnastics.

These two Huskies have been nominated to the MAC for the league's Scholar Athlete of the Week award, which NIU student-athletes have won eight times during the 2014-15 season, the second most in the conference.

Week's Achievements:Anthony Johnson helped the NIU men's basketball team continue its surge, scoring a team-high 18 points and adding four rebounds as the Huskies stretched their winning streak to four games and closed the regular season with an overtime win at Ball State. Johnson scored six of his points in the extra session, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:36 to play that gave NIU a lead it wouldn't let slip. The Huskie senior guard is averaging 10.8 points per game this season heading into the MAC Tournament.	Week's Achievements:Megan Greenfield won the vault with a score of 9.900 on Saturday as NIU hosted the State of Illinois Classic gymnastics meet, making her the state champion in the event. Greenfield beat all vaulters from No. 12 Illinois, Illinois State and UIC in the event and tied teammate Amanda Stepp for the best score in the event by a Huskie this season. NIU finished second as a team at the meet with a final team score of 194.350, behind only the ranked Fighting Illini.
