DeKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University Associate Vice-President and Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier announced a pair of staff promotions Thursday as Ryan Sedevie has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Collegiate Advancement and External Affairs while Tim Rice has been elevated to Senior Assistant Athletic Director for Revenue Generation.
Sedevie, who is completing his second full year at NIU on Frazier’s senior staff, is in charge of several of the Huskies’ external operations areas, including marketing and fan experience, athletics communications the ticket office and trademark licensing. He also serves as the liaison to NIU’s multimedia rights partner, Learfield Sports, and several campus entities. He is the sport administrator for the Huskies’ men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s tennis programs, having added oversight of the tennis teams this year.
Under Rice’s direction, the Huskie Athletic Fund enjoyed a record-breaking year in 2014 with over $1 million in cash gifts received for the first time in school history, while the annual fund increased by 24 percent from 2013 to 2014. Rice, who came to NIU from San Jose State University in January 2014, will continue to oversee the annual fund while also working closely with the major gifts team. Rice’s new role also give him oversight of the premium experience sales area at both Huskie Stadium and the Convocation Center.
“Ryan knows better than anyone that I’m about outcomes. He has done a tremendous job leading our external units and moving NIU Athletics forward. He has engaged both our campus and our community. He has earned this new promotion to Senior Associate Athletic Director,” Frazier said. “Tim is an invaluable member of the Huskie Athletic Fund. Since his first day at NIU Athletics, he has worked extremely hard to engage our donors and alumni. I’m excited to have people like Ryan and Tim on board who are working tirelessly to help us accomplish our goals at NIU.”
