Week's Achievements: Cameron Clinton-Earl led another impressive defensive performance by the NIU football team against Power 5 opposition on Saturday at Boston College. The senior defensive end recorded a career-high three tackles for loss totaling seven yards and finished with a career-high seven total tackles as the Huskies held the Eagles to just 17 points in the game, despite being on the field for more than 37 minutes. Clinton-Early now leads NIU with 4.0 TFLs this season and his 11 total tackles this season are tied for the most by a Huskie defensive lineman through four games.

Week's Achievements: Lauren Gierman scored not one, but two incredible goals – each from about 50 yards – in a span of 10 minutes on Friday night in the NIU’s MAC opener, leading the Huskies to a 2-0 victory over Toledo. The sophomore midfielder broke a scoreless deadlock between the Huskies and Rockets in the 62nd minute when her free kick from near the midfield stripe found its way into the corner of the net. Just 10 minutes later, Gierman remarkably repeated the feat – only this time with more authority – when her powerful shot from almost the same spot rocketed past the Toledo goalkeeper and clinched the NIU victory. |
