Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Huskies Can’t Find The Back Of The Net In 2-0 Loss To Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The NIU women's soccer team (4-9-4, 3-5-2 MAC) fell to Bowling Green (8-9-1, 3-6-1 MAC) 2-0 Sunday as the Falcons were able to score a goal in each half.

Bowling Green got on the board early on as Rachel Muller scored in the 11th minute, as she fired a ball into the upper left corner of the goal after receiving a pass from Erica Hubert in the box. The game remained 1-0 until the 74th minute when Hubert scored on a throw in play from Sam Howshar.

"Bowling Green played well today and had a lot of fight on senior day," Head Coach John Ross said. "We needed to be a bit sharper today to break them down."

The Huskies weren't without their opportunities as they fired 16 shots with 11 on target including four from Haley Cummings (Spring, Texas/Home School) in her first game back from an injury, two apiece from Natalie Yass (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) and Allie Ingham (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) but Bowling Green goalkeeper Kathleen Duwve stopped all of them.

"We need to get back to work Tuesday and prepare for our most important game of the year on Thursday," Ross said.

NIU has one more match in the regular season as they will go to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face off against Western Michigan at 2:00 p.m. central on Thursday.
