DEKALB – The NIU women's soccer team (4-10-4, 3-6-2 MAC) heads to Muncie, Ind. for the opening round in the Mid-American Conference Tournament against Ball State. The Huskies ended the regular season as the eighth seed in the MAC with the Cardinals winning the regular season title, earning the number one seed in the tournament.

Alex Elias (Phoenix, Ariz/Boulder Creek). Ball State won their final game of the regular season 2-0 over Miami (Ohio) to clinch the MAC regular season title.
These two teams matched up earlier this year on Oct. 9 in DeKalb where the Cardinals defeated the Huskies 2-0 with Ball State getting goals by Sam Kambol in the first half and Emily Scott in the second half.
Kambol and Scott are the two top point scorers for the Cardinals as Kambol has 11 points and Scott has ten points, each have five goals.
Kickoff is scheduled for noon on Sunday with the game being streamed on ESPN3. The winner will move to the semi-finals to play the winner of Western Michigan vs. Miami next Friday.
