Huskies Unable to Upend Toledo in MAC Play

April 8, 2016

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Northern Illinois University women’s tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Toledo on Friday afternoon in Mid-American Conference action at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo.

The Huskies (6-10, 1-3 MAC) couldn’t knock off the Rockets (8-10, 2-3 MAC) as the home team won in the series for the third consecutive season. Toledo took the doubles point and continued that momentum to finish with five wins in singles as well.

Adey Osabuohien (Hazel Crest, Ill./Stony Brook) was the only Huskie to earn a victory as the NIU No. 1 improved to 13-3 on the season with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Toledo's top player, Sidnay Huck.

NIU women's tennis returns to action next weekend -- this time with two road matches at Buffalo and Western Michigan on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
