Week's Achievements:
Johnny Zubek completed an incredible comeback by the NIU baseball team last Tuesday against Valparaiso, knocking the walk-off hit to cap the Huskies’ crazy seven-run ninth inning in the wild 11-10 win. The NIU senior catcher’s success continued through the weekend, and he finished the week with a batting average of .438, a team-high seven hits, one double, three runs scored and two runs batted in. He also had another stand-out game in MAC play, going 3-for-4 with a run scored in the series finale against Toledo on Sunday.

Week's Achievements:
Kayti Grable helped the NIU softball team clinch its first MAC West title since 2000 on Friday as the junior scored the go-ahead run and reached base four times in the Huskies’ decisive 8-3 victory over Central Michigan. Grable walked three times in the game and scored three times as well, including the crucial run that put NIU ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning after CMU had rallied to tie the game in the top half.. She finished the three-game series with the Chippewas with a batting average of .500 with four hits, three runs scored and two runs batted in.
