DeKALB, Ill. – Fans, families and friends of all ages are invited to Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium on Friday, July 22 for 2016 NIU Football Family Fun Day and Movie Night, a free event beginning at 5 p.m. on the Northern Illinois University campus.
Bring the kids out to participate in activity stations with the NIU Football team from 5-6 p.m. while adults can tour the premium seating areas including the Yordon Terrace, End Zone Club and Coaches Club. The NIU inflatables, including the bounce house, obstacle course and football toss, also will be set up for the youngsters to enjoy. Meet NIU's live husky Mission as well as Victor E. Huskie. A limited menu of concessions will be available for purchase.
After the activities, members of the NIU Football team will sign autographs from 6:15-6:45 p.m. on the new 2016 football posters available for the first time at this event. At 7 p.m., bring your blanket (no chairs or pets allowed) and settle onto the Brigham Field turf to watch "Zootopia" on the Huskie Stadium videoboard. Restrooms will be open on the East Side of Huskie Stadium.

Parking is free and available in the paved lots around Huskie Stadium. Enter the field through the gate at the northwest corner of the field (between the West Side of Huskie Stadium and the Yordon Center, across from Ralph McKinzie Baseball Field) beginning at 4 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the Family Fun Day activities will be moved inside the Chessick Practice Center and the movie will not be shown.
During the event, parents are encouraged to register your child or children for the 2016-17 Pup Club. For just $10, kids in kindergarten through eighth grade will receive free admission to all NIU non-football home athletic events, a personalized birthday card, official Pup Club T-shirt, the chance to form the tunnel at football and basketball games and more.
Season football tickets will also be available for purchase during Family Fun Day with great deals and great seats for all six home games, including the Huskie Chi-Town Showdown at U.S. Cellular Field. The Huskies open the 2016 season Sept. 3 at Wyoming. Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. Central Time and the game can be seen on CBS Sports Network. NIU's home opener is scheduled for Sept. 17 when the Huskies welcome San Diego State to Huskie Stadium (2:30 p.m. CT/CBSSN).
