• Marin Maric led two Huskies scoring in double figures in a road sweep last week. Maric averaged a double-double with 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while Jaylen Key added 11.5 points per game. 
• Maric is one of just three players to rank in the top-20 in the league in scoring, the top-10 in rebounding and field goal percentage as well as the top-15 in blocked shots. 
• NIU converted more free throw opportunities, 36, than their opponents shot, 26; the Huskies went 36-of-49 (73.5 percent) from the charity stripe over the two games last week at Kent State and Bowling Green. 
• NIU ranks in the top-20 nationally in turnovers forced (19th, 16.7 per game) which has helped the Huskies to a +5.7 margin in points off turnovers this season (18.1-12.4).  
• NIU has had at least four players score in double figures in three of its first four conference games, with seven different players reaching double figures in league play. 
• The NIU defense has done a good job holding opponent's leading scorer in check during conference play. The leading scorer for each of NIU's four opponents in league play has been held under their season scoring average.

About Miami
• The RedHawks come to DeKalb with an 8-9 overall record, 1-3 in Mid-American Conference play, after dropping a narrow 74-70 decision at home against Akron on Saturday (Jan. 14). 
• Miami is led by 17.8 points per game from Michael Weathers, Logan McLane is also scoring in double figures for the RedHawks at 11.7 points per contest. 
• In conference play, Miami has four players scoring in double figures, led by 16.3 points per game from McLane. Michael Weathers is second at 13.3 points per contest while Rod Mills adds 12.8 points per game and Marcus Weathers chips in 10.8 points per contest. 
• The RedHawks rank third in the MAC in three-point shooting during league play at 39.0 percent; for the season Miami is shooting 33.5 percent from behind the arc. 

All-time Series with the RedHawks
• Miami leads the all-time series against NIU, 28-16, including a 69-67 victory in Oxford to open conference play this season (Jan. 3, 2017). The RedHawks have won three of four overall in the series. 
• NIU holds an 11-7 edge all-time in DeKalb, but Miami did win the last meeting in the series played at NIU, 60-55 (Jan. 24, 2015). 
• Will Sullivan led the RedHawks with 14 points in that contest as Miami shot 48.8 percent (21-of-43) from the field while holding NIU to just 33.3 percent (17-of-51) shooting; Aaron Armstead scored a game-high 15 for the Huskies.

Huskies Find Their Stride in Northern Ohio
• NIU had a successful six-day road trip to Ohio last week as the Huskies earned two victories, winning in overtime at Kent State, 74-70 (Jan. 10), before defeating Bowling Green, 69-52 (Jan. 14). 
• At Kent State (Jan. 10), the Huskies rallied from a 13-point second half deficit to win in overtime. NIU closed regulation with a 14-6 run before scoring first in overtime to take its first lead of the game, the Huskies never trailed in overtime. Marin Maric led the way for NIU with 19 points and 11 rebounds. 
• At Bowling Green (Jan. 14), NIU led by two with 15 minutes left before a 17-0 Huskie run put the Falcons away. Levi Bradley and Jaylen Key each scored 12 to pace NIU. 
• Marin Maric led two Huskies scoring in double figures for the week. Maric averaged a double-double with 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while Jaylen Key added 11.5 points per game. 
• The Huskies outrebounded Kent State and Bowling Green by a combined 84-66, the Golden Flashes came into last week's contest with a league-best +9.5 rebounding margin. 
• NIU converted more free throw opportunities, 36, than their opponents shot, 26; the Huskies went 36-of-49 (73.5 percent) from the charity stripe over the two games. 
• NIU's trip to Kent State and Bowling Green also included two days in Cleveland, where the Huskies practiced at the Cleveland Cavaliers' practice facility. 
• The two victories marked the first time NIU has won consecutive conference road games since defeating Toledo (Feb., 25, 2015) and Ball State (March 6, 2015) late in the 2014-15 season.
