DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University men's basketball head coach
Mark Montgomery announced on Wednesday the signing of Justin Lee to a National Letter of Intent to join the Huskie program for the 2018-19 season.
A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., Lee attends Collins Hill High School where last season he was a Georgia All-Region 6-AAAAAAA Second Team honoree and was named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North Junior Boys All-Star Team.
"We are very pleased to add Justin to the Huskie family," said Montgomery. "Justin is a long, athletic guard that can play multiple positions and is a good shooter. With his length, Justin can be a very disruptive defender and an excellent range rebounder. He comes from a basketball family, his sister plays Division I at Gardner-Webb, and he also plays for a very good high school program that has a history of winning and producing players."
The 6-foot-8 Lee is rated the 17th-best player in the State of Georgia by 247 Sports and was ranked 175th in the Big Shots National 2018 Top 300 Player Rankings. Lee's Collins Hill team was recently ranked No. 10 in the Georgia Class AAAAAAA Preseason State Rankings.
The 2017-18 Huskies open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 10, when they host St. Francis (Ill.) at the NIU Convocation Center at 7 p.m.
