NIU Set for Season’s First Meeting with WMU

Aaric Armstead ranks 19th in NIU history in scoring (1,148 points), third in steals (143) and 10th in blocked shots (55). Armstead is also one of just nine active players in the country with 1,000 career points, 500 career rebounds and 140 career steals. 
• NIU ranks 30th nationally in turnovers forced (15.9 per game). The Huskies also rank 38th in offensive rebounds per game (12.6) and 48th in steals per contest (7.5).  
• Over the last four games, Aaric Armstead is averaging 14.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest, shooting 56.4 percent (22-of-39) from the field, including 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from three.

• The Broncos come into Saturday's contest with an 8-15 overall record, 4-7 in Mid-American Conference play. Western Michigan is 7-2 at home this season with its only losses coming against Akron (20-4) and UNC Wilmington (22-4).
• Two players are scoring in double figures for the Broncos, led by 18.3 points per game from Thomas Wilder, fourth-best in the MAC, and 14.2 points per contest from Tucker Haymond. 
• Western Michigan ranks second in the MAC in rebounding defense, allowing its opponents to grab just 33.1 rebounds per contest.

• Western Michigan leads the all-time series against NIU, 57-32, and also holds a 36-8 advantage all-time in Kalamazoo. The Broncos have won 10-straight against the Huskies in Kalamazoo, dating back to March 1, 2007. 
• NIU and Western Michigan met three times a season ago, including a MAC Tournament First Round game in DeKalb, the home team won all three matchups a season ago. 
Travon Baker scored 18 points and Levi Bradley scored 13 points with 12 rebounds in that conference tournament matchup a season ago, won 56-50 by NIU. Tucker Haymond led Western Michigan with 17 points; Marin Maric missed the game for NIU due to injury.
