ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University Women's Tennis team scored a 4-3 victory over Western Michigan on Senior Day at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday afternoon.

Pauline Chawafambira (Mutare, Zimbabwe) and junior
Evelyn Youel (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) won the first match of the afternoon, 6-2, at No. 3 singles. Senior
Adey Osabuohien (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and freshman
Raven Neely (Grosse Point, Mich./Grosse Point South) won their match at No. 1 singles, 7-6.

Michelle Erasmus (Johannesburg, South Africa/Brescia) won their matches at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Osabouhien won her match, 6-1, 6-3, while Erasmus scored a 6-1, 6-1, win. Neely's win at No. 2 singles clinched the match for NIU. The Huskie freshman posted a 6-2, 7-6 win over Katja Fevralev.

The NIU women's tennis team returns to action Friday, April 21 when the Huskies travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to face the Falcons of Bowling Green State. The match begins at 12 p.m. CT.
