Game Times Announced for Huskies’ Home Games

Season kicks off Sept. 1 at home against Boston College

DEKALB, Ill. – 
Game times for Northern Illinois University football's six home games, including the 2017 season opener versus Boston College, have been announced as part of the Mid-American Conference's release of additional game times and television broadcast networks Wednesday.
 
Kickoff for NIU's season opener against the Eagles on Sept. 1 is set for 8:30 p.m. (all times listed are Central) at Huskie Stadium and will be televised by CBS Sports Network. The Huskies' second contest of the season, a home game versus in-state foe Eastern Illinois on Sept. 9, kicks off at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN3 and is one of two home games with an afternoon kick time. The Huskies' 111th Homecoming Game versus Kent State on Oct. 7 will kick off at 2:30 p.m. as well. Broadcast information will be announced 12 days prior to the game.
 
MACtion begins early for the Huskies this year as their Oct. 26 home game with Eastern Michigan will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be shown by either CBS Sports Network or ESPN3. Two weeks later, the battle for the Bronze Stalk, the rivalry trophy between NIU and Ball State, will kick off at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9 in DeKalb and will be televised by CBS Sports Network. The Huskies welcome defending MAC champion Western Michigan to Huskie Stadium on Nov. 15 for Senior Night. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be televised by either ESPN2, ESPNU or CBS Sports Network.
 
The kick time for NIU's Nov. 2 contest at Toledo has also been determined. The Huskies will face the Rockets at 5 p.m. and the game will be shown by either ESPNU or CBS Sports Network.
 
In addition to the game times announced today, kick times and television for NIU's games at Nebraska and San Diego are also set. The Huskies' Sept. 16 game at Nebraska will kick off at 11 a.m. on Fox Sports 1, while their contest with the Aztecs is scheduled to kick at 9:30 p.m. and will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
 
Kickoff and broadcast information for the Huskies' road games at Buffalo (Oct. 14) and Bowling Green (Oct. 21) will be announced 12 days prior to each game. Broadcast information for the 111th Homecoming Game will be determined 12 days out as well.
 
With game times set, now is an excellent time for fans to purchase season tickets for the 2017 season. Season tickets are an even greater value in 2017 with the addition of the new $199 Family Pack featuring four tickets in sections A or G and a new, lowered $60 price for season tickets on the East Side with general admission seating.  Reserved seats in sections A, B, F and G are now just $115 for the season, a cost of less than $20 per game.
