Be Our Guest at NIU’s “Beauty and the Beast” Meet

Beauty & the Beast

Women's Gymnastics | January 23

DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University gymnastics and wrestling programs host Central Michigan and North Dakota State, respectively, in an action packed duo-sport event. The collaborative meeting will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

NIU welcomes fans to dress up for the event as Belle or Beast and invites any kids who do participate in the dress-up fun to join in the high five tunnel as the Huskies make their way out to the floor. Victor E. will be in attendance dressed as Beast and will be available to take pictures.

The marketing staff will be giving away free t-shirts to fans that bring a Disney VHS tape to the meet. This is strictly a VHS appreciation project and not a donation, so your movie can return home with you. There is a limit of one t-shirt per fan while supplies lasts. To show off your Disney VHS to the marketing staff and obtain your NIU t-shirt, stop by the marketing table on the track level of the arena.

A Beauty and the Beast coloring page station will also be set up next to the marketing table where you can stop after entering for a chance win a VHS or Blu-ray copy of the movie by signing up for a free raffle. When kids are done at the table, they are encouraged to play at "Beast's Castle," where they can jump in the bouncy house.

NIU students have a chance to "Feast with the Beast" on pizza. Only the first 50 students will receive free pizza after they show their One Card.

The Huskies will also be rewarding one special fan with an "enchanted rose" as the sweetheart of the meet.

Admissions are free to all spectators for every gymnastics and wrestling meet this season including Beauty and the Beast. Both teams will also be signing posters after the meet on the track level of the arena.
