Huskies Set for Back-to-Back Match Weekend

DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team competes in its first of back-to-back matches when it travels to Buffalo, N.Y. for a Mid-American Conference match with Buffalo at 12 p.m. Friday.

NIU (5-13, 0-4) will have a quick turnaround as it returns home to face Akron on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Rockford Boylan Tennis Center.

"The team is looking forward to another good week of matches," said NIU head coach Tanya Mahefu. "We play a very talented Buffalo team. I know the team is relishing the opportunity to play them.

"We also play Akron, another talented team, on Saturday. So we are just excited to get better and compete well."

Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar School) extended her winning streak to four as she defeated Toledo's Claire Aleck in three sets at No. 5 singles on Sunday. She also defeated Western Michigan's Gabriela Slova on Friday. Walker owns an 11-6 record in dual matches this season.
