ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 7-0 loss to DePaul at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday.

The Blue Demons proved to be too much for the Huskies (2-6) as NIU lost the doubles point and all six singles matches.

The Huskies did put up battles in the first sets at Nos. 3, 4 and 5 singles. Christy Robinson (Wellington, New Zealand/Samuael Marsden Collegiate School) was edged out 7-5 in her first set at No. 3 singles before falling 6-0 in the second.

At. No. 2 singles, Paula Veyhle (Stuttgart, Germany) also lost her first set, 7-5, but fell in the second, 6-3. Lara Slisko (Essendon, Australia/St. Columbia's College) was edged out, 7-6, in her first set at No. 4 singles. However, she was unable to score in the second set, falling, 6-0.

The Huskies return to action Sunday when NIU travels to SIUE. The match begins at 12 p.m. CT.
