ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Toledo at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday.
Maria Potsi (Athens, Greece/1st Gel Cholargou) and Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar School) each picked up wins for the Huskies (5-9, 0-1), which was unable to win the doubles point.
Potsi scored a 6-2, 7-5 win over Eileen Carney at No. 2 singles, while Brodie Walker rallied from a 6-3 setback in the first set to win the next two, 7-6, 10-7.
The Huskies return to the court Sunday when NIU plays host to Western Michigan. The match begins at 1 p.m. CT at the Boylan Tennis Center.
