ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team fell to Western Michigan, 5-2, at the Boylan Tennis Center Sunday.
Maria Potsi (Athens, Greece/1st Gel Cholargou) and Christy Robinson (Wellington, New Zealand/Samuel Marsden Collegiate School) each picked up wins for the Huskies (5-10, 0-2), which suffered the loss in doubles play.
Potsi earned her second win of the weekend, earning a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 victory over Denise Azcui at No. 2 singles. Robinson lost the first set, 4-6, but rallied for a 6-2 win in the second set and posting a 1-0 (7-5) victory at No. 5 singles.
The Huskies (5-10, 0-2) return to action Friday when NIU opens a stretch of three road matches at Bowling Green. The match begins at 12 p.m. CT.
