BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 6-1 defeat at Bowling Green Friday.
Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar School) scored the lone singles victory for the Huskies (5-11, 0-3), which suffered the loss in doubles play. Walker earned a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Maria Potsi (Athens. Greece/1st Gel Cholargou) and Lara Slisko (Essendon, Australia/St. Columba's College) scored a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles for NIU.
"We need to do better as a team," said NIU head coach Tanya Mahefu. "We need to be more competitive at certain spots."
The Huskies return to the court Sunday when NIU travels to Miami. The match begins at 12 p.m. CT.
