ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 7-0 setback to UIC at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday.
After losing the doubles point, the Huskies (2-8) dropped its six singles matches.
Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar) and Paula Veyhle (Stuttgart, Germany) battled, but came up short. Walker lost her match at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4. After losing the first set, 6-2 to Georgie Sanders at No. 4 singles, Veyhle pushed her opponent in the second set, but ultimately fell, 7-6.
The Huskies return to the court Saturday when NIU plays host to IUPUI. The match begins at 9 a.m. CT at the Boylan Tennis Center.
