CLEVELAND -- Senior Bor Schweiger Muzar (Crnomelj, Slovenia/Gimnm) and sophomore David Pata (Bucharest, Romania/Emil Racovita) of the Northern Illinois University men's tennis team were named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week, announced by the league office on Wednesday (Jan. 22).

Muzar and Pata earned a victory in NIU's season opening match against Drake (Jan. 18) to help the Huskies to a 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs.

Playing at number one, the Huskie duo topped Drake's Reid Jarvis and David Nyman, 6-3, to help NIU claim the doubles point. The Huskies would go on to clinch the dual when Muzar finished off a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over Evan Fragistas in the decisive sixth singles match.

The NIU tandem picked up where they left off last season when Muzar and Pata posted a 9-3 record as a doubles pairing in dual matches.

NIU returns to action this weekend as the Huskies travel to Madison, Wis., to play a pair of matches. NIU will meet North Dakota on Saturday, January 25, before taking on Wisconsin on Sunday, January 26.
