DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways on Tuesday night, January 28, as the Huskies host Ohio at the NIU Convocation Center. Tipoff against the Bobcats is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be available on ESPN+.
Tuesday night is Study Night at the Convo with tables available for Huskie students to study before the game.

NIU (11-9, 4-3 MAC) is coming off back-to-back wins over Kent State (76-69) and Western Michigan (58-52) as the Huskies host the Bobcats in their lone meeting of the season. Sophomore
Trendon Hankerson (Novi, Mich./Mich.) enters Tuesday's contest red-hot from beyond the arc, having made seven consecutive three-point attempts dating back to January 18 against Bowling Green. Hankerson leads the Mid-American Conference in three-point shooting at 51.9 percent (28-of-54).
Senior
Eugene German (Gary, Ind./21st Century Charter) begins the week with 1,961 career points, just 35 behind NIU's all-time leading scorer T.J. Lux (1995-2000; 1,996 points). German, who is averaging 19.6 points per game, has scored in double figures in all 20 games this season, including 11 games of 20-plus points.
Ohio comes to DeKalb with a 10-10 overall record, which includes a 2-5 mark in MAC play. The Bobcats are 3-4 on the road this season, including a 60-58 victory at Eastern Michigan (Jan. 18) in their last road game. The Bobcats have three players scoring in double figures, led by 16.5 points per game from Jason Preston. Ben Vander Plas adds 15.4 points per contest, along with a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game, while Jordan Dartis is averaging 13.8 points per game.
The Huskies and Bobcats met three times last season, including a MAC Tournament First Round game in DeKalb, with NIU winning all three contests.
Following Tuesday's contest, NIU will wrap up its current three-game homestand on Saturday, February 1, as the Huskies host Miami at 3 p.m. in a game televised on CBS Sports Network.
