DeKALB, IL – The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team's season opener, scheduled for Wednesday, November 25 against Illinois State at the NIU Convocation Center, has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
 
Illinois State announced today that the game between the Huskies and Redbirds was canceled due to "limited roster numbers in conjunction with COVID-19 testing protocols".
 
NIU is working to secure an alternate opponent for November 25^th. An announcement will be made when that information is finalized.
