CHICAGO – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 6-1 setback to the University of Illinois – Chicago at the XS Tennis Center Wednesday morning.
Maria Potsi and
Fernanda Naves won at No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-1 but were followed by two losses at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles.
Paula Veyhle took home the lone point for NIU in three sets at No. 6 singles, 6-1,1-6, 10-4.
Brodie Walker forced three sets at No. 4 singles against UIC's Izzy Marshall but fell in the final set, 2-6, 6-3, 3-10.
The Huskies return to the court Sunday where they will travel to West Lafayette, Ind. to face Purdue University. Match is set to begin at 4 p.m. CT.
