Men's Basketball | October 7

DeKALB, IL – Game times for the 2021-22 Northern Illinois University men's and women's basketball home games at the NIU Convocation Center were announced on Thursday.
 
In general, weeknight men's basketball games tip-off at 7 p.m. with weekend games at 3 p.m. Women's basketball games are set for 6 p.m. on weeknights and 1 p.m. on the weekends. The latest schedule information can be viewed online on the men's basketball and women's basketball schedule pages.
 
NIU Women's Basketball will open Mid-American Conference play on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. against Akron. On Wednesday, Jan. 26 the NIU women's basketball team will host Kent State at 11 a.m. The final NIU men's basketball home game on Friday, March 4 against Ohio is set for 7 p.m.
 
There will be three Saturday doubleheaders this season, with the women's basketball team playing at 1 p.m. and the men's team following at 3:30. On Jan. 15 the women's team hosts Toledo with the men's team taking on Eastern Michigan. February 12^th sees the Huskie women's basketball team take on Buffalo and the men's team playing Toledo. The final doubleheader on Feb. 19 has the women's basketball team hosting Western Michigan and the men's team playing Miami.
 
The two teams will host exhibition games the weekend of October 29. The women's basketball team will host Benedictine on Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m., with the men's team taking on University of St. Francis on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
 
Fans can get their first look at the NIU men's and women's basketball teams this Sunday, Oct. 10 when the Huskies host an open practice at the NIU Convocation Center starting at 12 p.m. Both teams will work out and sign autographs as fans get introduced to this season's squads. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and fans are asked to enter through Entrance 5 of the Convocation Center, located on the north side of the building and park in lots C3 and C4. Masks are required for all fans inside the NIU Convocation Center.
 
NIU's clear/small bag policy will be in effect for the open practice, meaning no large bags or purses will be permitted. Approved bags include one clear plastic 12" x 12" x 6" stadium bag OR a one (1) gallon clear plastic storage bag OR one (1) clutch purse size 4.5" x 6.5" or smaller.

Members of the Huskie Athletic Fund staff will also be in attendance for fans interested in premium seating options for the 2021-22 basketball season, including courtside seats, Nelson Club and suites.
