PEORIA, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team suffered a 4-1 setback to in-state rival Bradley at the David Markin Tennis Courts Tuesday night.
NIU (11-10, 3-3) won the doubles point as Iullia Dmitrieva and
Diana Lukyanova won at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, before losing at No. 3 doubles.
Fernanda Naves and
Lara Slisko clinched the point for the Huskies with a 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 1 doubles.
Unfortunately, the Huskies, who were playing without two starters, lost four straight singles and the match.
The Huskies return to the court Friday, April 9 when NIU returns to Mid-American Conference action to play host to Ball State. The match begins at 1 p.m. at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford.
