DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's soccer team will conclude its season this week with a pair of matches. The Huskies will host Ball State on Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m. before traveling to Central Michigan for the final game of the season on Sunday, April 11, at 12 p.m.

NIU returns home Thursday following back-to-back road matches last week, including a 4-1 setback against MAC West leading Eastern Michigan last time out (April 4). Senior Haley Hoppe (Austin, Texas/Rouse) scored her second goal of the season, and the sixth of her career, against the Eagles. Hoppe is tied for the team lead in goals with freshman Kierah Meier (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore). 

Ball State comes to DeKalb with a 4-2-1 overall record after having its three-game win streak snapped last time out at Western Michigan. Tatiana Mason leads the Cardinals in scoring with three goals and seven points. Maitane Bravo has played all seven matches in goal for Ball State and has a 0.81 goals against average and a .727 save percentage. 

Central Michigan has a 4-3-0 record entering the week and will visit Western Michigan on Thursday (April 8) before hosting NIU on Sunday (April 11). Natalie Belsito leads the Chippewas in scoring with three goals and eight points. Allison Lapoint has recorded a 0.97 goals against average and a .759 save percentage while playing all seven matches in goal for Central Michigan. 

Members of the general public are now welcome to attend NIU home soccer matches with capacity of the NIU Soccer Complex limited to 25 percent, or just under 400 total.
