DeKALB, Ill. – Sophomore Diana Lukyanova defeated Lenka Antonijevic of DePaul at No. 2 singles to improve her season record to 5-2, scoring the lone point for the Northern Illinois University women's tennis team Sunday in a 6-1 loss to the Blue Demons at Chick Evans Field House.
 
NIU (5-3) dropped the doubles point with the No. 1 and No. 3 teams each suffering 6-3 losses as the Huskies entered singles down 1-0. 
 
In addition to Lukyanova's win, the Huskies' No. 1 player, Erika Dimitriev, went to three sets against DePaul No. 1 Yuliya Kizelbasheva before losing 6-4 in the third set.  NIU's Christy Robinson also split the first two sets at No. 6 singles with Valentina Martin, but lost the super tie-breaker in the final match of the day, 10-7.
 
The Huskies return to action in Chick Evans Field House on Saturday, February 19 when they play host to Pacific at 9 a.m. and Cardinal Stritch at 1 p.m.
