Natalie Hamp (Ionia, Mich./ Ionia) of the Northern Illinois University gymnastics team was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the week announced by the league office on Wednesday (March 23). 
 
Hamp won her second career conference title last weekend on the uneven bars at the MAC Gymnastics Championships, securing her spot at the NCAA Regionals. The junior won the bars with a score of 9.900, making her the first Huskie to repeat as a MAC Champion on the same event. 
 
A kinesiology major with a 3.986 grade point average, last season Hamp was an Academic All-MAC team member. Additionally, she was a WCGA Scholastic All-American and member of the 2021 top ranked academic Women's Gymnastics team in the nation. This is the fifth time this year a Huskie has won the MAC Scholar-Athlete of the week award. 
 
Hamp will head to Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash., for the NCAA Regionals next Thursday, March 31.
