KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Three of the six singles matches between the Northern Illinois University and Western Michigan women's tennis teams extended to three sets, with the Broncos winning all three to complete a 7-0 win over NIU Sunday at the Sorenson Courts in Kalamazoo.
 
NIU's Diana Lukyanova, Angelica Ross and Christy Robinson each won a set over their opponents at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Lukyanova and Robinson won the first sets in their matches, while Ross won the second set in her match with WMU's Femke Tjon-A-Joe.
 
NIU's Erika Dimitriev and Reagan Welch dropped closely contested matches in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.  Dimitriev lost 7-5, 7-5 to Lindsey Zieglar of WMU, while Welch fell to Karin Hamilton 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
 
NIU fell behind 1-0 after WMU claimed victories at No. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the doubles point.
 
The Huskies are now 14-11 overall, 1-6 in the MAC, while WMU improved to 11-9, 3-4.  
 
NIU returns to action Friday, April 15 at Eastern Michigan and take on Ball State at home on Sunday, April 17.
