MUNCIE, Ind. – Facing another of the Mid-American Conference's top teams for the second time on the weekend, the Northern Illinois University women's team lost to Ball State, 6-1, Sunday at the Cardinal Creek Courts in Muncie, Indiana.
Freshman
Reagan Welch earned the Huskies' point with a comeback win at No. 3 singles. After losing the first set, 6-3, Welch won the second set in a tiebreaker and claimed the match with a 10-8 victory in the super tiebreaker.

Angelica Ross and
Christy Robinson played tight matches at No. 5 and No. 4 singles, respectively as Ross fell 7-5, 6-4 to BSU's Elena Malykh, while Hannah Davies defeated Robinson 6-3, 6-3.
With the win, Ball State improved to 13-3 on the season, 4-1 in the MAC, while NIU fell to 13-10, 0-5.
NIU returns to action on Friday, April 8 at 1 p.m. (CT) when the Huskies play host to Eastern Michigan at either the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House or at the DeKalb High School Tennis Courts.
