DeKALB, Ill.—Continiung action on the road, the Northern Illinois University Huskies wrestling program will compete at the Lindenwood Open and the Boilermaker Duals this weekend.
The Huskies will start at 9 a.m. at Lindenwood on Nov. 18 before competing at the Boilermaker Duals on Nov. 19. The Huskies will face off against the University of Indianapolis at 10 a.m. Eastern before taking on Purdue at approximately 2 p.m. Eastern.
Purdue has started the season with a 1-1 record, with a win over Army on Nov. 11. Indianapolis will have their first dual competition of the 2023-24 season on Nov. 19, as they've started the season with three opens. The Huskies are 2-0 to start the 2023-24 campaign, having claimed victories on Nov. 3 in the Huskie Duals.
Last season at the Boilermaker Duals, the Huskies went 1-2 on the day. The Huskies lone victory came as they beat Cleveland State.
Blake West (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) recorded two wins on the day.
Hayden Pummel (Indian Lake, Ohio/Indian Lake) trimmed the Boilermakers lead to three at 14-11 with a 10-6 win over Purdue's Brody Baumann.
The Huskies were last in action at the Michigan State Open on Nov. 11 where 14 members of the squad finished in the top-8 or above.
