Women's Basketball | December 17
DeKALB, IL - The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team is back on the home floor at the NIU Convocation Center Monday night to take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers at 5 p.m. The game is the first of a doubleheader, with the NIU men's basketball team taking on Calumet College at approximately 7:30 p.m.

NIU (4-5) got back in the win column on Dec. 10 with a 75-66 win over the Detroit Mercy Titans. Senior guard
Jayden Marable (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) scored a game-high 17 points, nine of which came in the third quarter.
Brooke Stonebraker (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles) had 13 points and a game-high seven rebounds.
Tara Stauffacher (Columbus, Wis./Wisconsin) scored in double figures for the second straight game, putting up 10 points with five rebounds. Over her last five games the senior forward is averaging 10.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, shooting 44 percent from the three-point line.
The Huskies erased a seven-point second quarter deficit to win their sixth straight game at the Convocation Center. In those six wins NIU has averaged over 80 points per game. Over NIU's last six games, the Huskies are averaging 70.7 points per game and shooting over 40 percent from the field.
The Huskies made nine threes in the win over Detroit Mercy and shot 56.3 percent from the three-point arc. All five starters made a three-pointer, marking the first time that happened for NIU since Dec. 4, 2020 in a win at Eastern Illinois. NIU is 15th in the nation in three-pointers per game at 9.3, which leads the Mid-American Conference.
Eastern Illinois (3-8) is coming off a 59-52 loss to Milwaukee this past Friday night. Milwaukee held the Panthers to 31 percent shooting from the field and 5-for-21 from long range. Macy McGlone led EIU with 16 point and 10 rebounds. The junior forward leads the Panthers in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. NIU is back in action after the Christmas holiday on Saturday, Dec. 30 for a 1 p.m. game against Concordia Chicago at the Convocation Center.
