DeKALB, IL - The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team hosts the Central Michigan Chippewas on Saturday for Senior Day at the NIU Convocation Center. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. CT, with the Senior Day ceremony following the game.

NIU (14-12, 6-9 MAC) will honor seniors
Emma Carter (Bristol, Vt./Franklin Pierce),
Emily Meinert (Galesburg, Ill./Parkland College),
A'Jah Davis (DeKalb, Ill./Montverde Academy [Fla.]) and
Janae Poisson (Matteson, Ill./Marian Catholic) on Saturday. Carter, a graduate transfer from Franklin Pierce, has played in 20 games this season with a season-high 14 points in the win at Navy on Nov. 26. Meinert has played in 93 games over the last three seasons, making the game-winning shot in the win at Detroit Mercy on Nov. 22. Davis, a First Team All-MAC selection last season, enters Saturday's game seventh all-time at NIU in rebounds with 961 and second with 49 career double-doubles. Poisson has earned three MAC postseason honors, including the 2021 Sixth Player of the Year, and is fourth all-time at NIU with 248 career three-pointers.

The Huskies have shown marked improvement from the three-point line this month. In seven games in February, NIU is averaging 10 three-pointers per game and shooting 39.1 percent from long range. The Huskies are leading the Mid-American Conference with 8.5 three-pointers and are third in three-point percentage at 34.2 percent.
Chelby Koker (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) is second in the league in three-point percentage at 40 percent. She is shooting 55.6 percent from long range over the last six games.

NIU has won each of the last two meetings against Central Michigan in DeKalb. The Chippewas won the first meeting between the two teams 79-62 on Jan. 4 at McGuirk Arena in the MAC opener. Central Michigan's Sydney Harris led all scorers in the game with 21 points while Davis had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead NIU. The Chippewas are 6-20 on the season and 4-11 in MAC play after Wednesday's 80-72 loss to Bowling Green. Bridget Utberg led Central Michigan with 19 points as Harris added 18. Harris is fourth in the MAC in scoring at 16.8 points per game.
NIU hosts Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, March 1 at 6 p.m. CT in the final regular season home game.
